NEET 2019 Result: 25 out of 28 students of CESDP-DMF Jajpur initiative crack exam

BHUBANESWAR: A group of 25 out of 28 socially and economically underprivileged students from Jajpur district qualified in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (UG) 2019, the results of which were declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Wednesday.

They were getting training for NEET 2019 by the Center for Educational and Social Development-Pathshala (CESDP), an NGO, under financial support from district mineral foundation (DMF), Jajpur, in a fully residential coaching program in Bhubaneswar.

These students were selected by the NGO after conducting an entrance test. Meritorious students interested to make career in medical field joined the 11-month-long free coaching programme. Even the students did not pay a single pie for food and lodging.

“I am so happy that 25 students out of the total batch of 28 have qualified in the NEET-2019. We will try to make 100 per cent result in the coming years,” said Sanghamitra Mohapatra, chairperson of CESDP.

Amlani S Bal, one among the 25 qualified students, got 566 marks out of 720 in NEET with an all India rank of 10,451. “The teachers are very supportive and help us to understand difficult subjects. I want to become a good doctor,” she added.

This initiative for NEET preparation was started last year. Seven out of 39 students had received seats for admission in government medical colleges.

The initiative is fully supported by DMF, Jajpur, headed by collector Ranjan Kumar Das. “We are really grateful for the support of the DMF, Jajpur, for empowering these underprivileged students and helping them to get a prestigious career in the field of medical education,” said Mohapatra.

This educational NGO was also preparing underprivileged students for prestigious IITs. But it was stopped for some operational reason. “But we are planning to start coaching classes soon for students interested in engineering,” she added.
